Reagan’s varsity volleyball team took the court at Littleton Gym vs Brandies on Friday, Oct. 24 and came out district champions.
The first set was a hard fought battle with Reagan winning in overtime 27-25 to take a 1-0 lead. Set two had a different outcome, with Brandies defeating Reagan 25-21 to tie it at 1-1. The third set saw the biggest victory, Reagan won 25-18 and took a 2-1 lead. Reagan was unable to close out in set four with Brandies winning in overtime 28-26 and to tie it at 2-2. Reagan clinched the title with a 15-10 victory in the fifth set and a 3-2 victory over Brandies.
The Rattlers finished the season with a near perfect 13-1 record in district play and 0.929 win percentage. Reagan’s lone loss came during an away visit to Clark and thus trailed them in the standings for most of the season. Reagan ended the season with an eight game winning streak, including a win vs Clark, to mount a title winning comeback.
Reagan’s varsity volleyball team have no scheduled games, but their district championship secured them a spot in the postseason.
