Ronald Reagan High School has selected this year’s outstanding faculty members for its annual teaching and staff honors. The awards recognize educators who demonstrate dedication, leadership and a lasting impact on students.
Sandra Feldtmose Named Reagan’s Paraprofessional of the Year
The faculty nominated Sandra Feldtmose for Paraprofessional of the Year, an award that recognizes her hard work and dedication to the school.
“I was happy to be nominated, and finding out I won was a real thrill,” Feldtmose said. “I love all my students and they all bring something special to the school, being able to help the students is a honor.”

In addition to recognizing paraprofessionals, Reagan High School honors outstanding teachers who inspire students every day and demonstrate exceptional leadership in the classroom.

“I feel really honored being nominated for teacher of the year,” Tavera said. “I love interacting with kids and getting to know them. being able to see hundreds of kids a day and learn their personalities is really unique.”
Rajani Kumaraswamy Named Reagan’s Nominee for Trinity Prize
Beyond campus awards, Reagan High School selects one educator to represent the school for the prestigious Trinity Prize, which recognizes teaching excellence across the greater San Antonio area.
Rajani Kumaraswamy was nominated for the 2025–2026 Trinity Prize. This award honors educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching and highlights teachers whom Trinity University recognizes as skilled, inspiring, and deeply passionate about their work.
“I feel really special; it’s an acknowledgement of hard work, and makes me reflect on why I chose this profession and why I do it,” Kumaraswamy said. “I love working with students and the hundreds of people I interact with, they make my day; as well as planning with my department and trying new things out.”
Kumaraswamy now advances as Reagan’s representative to the North East ISD selection process, where one teacher from the district will move forward to compete for the Trinity Prize at the regional level.
