Spring sports season begins for Reagan athletes

Reagan’s spring sports season has begun with soccer teams opening competition ahead of softball, baseball and track, which are scheduled to start later this spring.

Soccer

The varsity boys soccer team opened its season with an alumni game Dec. 29 at Reagan High School. The varsity girls team played its first game Jan. 1 at The Woodlands High School, while the varsity boys team competed in a tournament Jan. 2 in Brownsville.

At the junior varsity level, the JV-B boys’ team played at Smithson Valley on Jan. 5 and against Veterans Memorial High School at Reagan on Jan. 7. They also participated in the Smithson Valley Tournament from Jan. 8 to 10. JV-B girls’ soccer.

Softball

The girls junior varsity and varsity softball teams will take the field for their first games on Feb. 3 at New Braunfels.

Baseball

The JV A and B boys’ baseball teams will open their season Feb. 16 at Brandeis. The JV team will continue the week with an away game at Churchill on Feb.17, and home games against Steel, Southwest, MacArthur, and Warren at Reagan on Feb. 19 and 20.

The Varsity team will also play against Woodlands and Klein at Bridgeland on Feb. 20.

Track

The girls track team will open the season Feb. 5 with a meet at Boerne Stadium. The boys track team will compete Feb. 6 at Boerne Stadium.
