This week three members of the Rattler Report team visited the Chili’s off of TPC Parkway. The team had heard reports of above average food and service so we decided to take matters into our own hands and form our own opinions.
Chili’s is a nation wide Americana chain serving anything from Surf and Turf to Cajun Pasta all with the supurb quality of a national chain. The atmosphere, while somewhat generic, still is welcoming and gives you an idea of the night you’re about to have.
A good start of your outing would be the nationally renouned Triple Dipper with small portions of a variety of different appetizers such as mozzarella sticks, small sliders, or chicken strips with many options of coating. If you want something that easier to share with a large group, try the skillet queso. This appetizer is gooey queso with bits of ground beef inside to add a more interesting texture and flavor that makes it stand out from the other queso options they have.
For an entree, we ordered the Cajun Pasta and the Big Mouth Burger. The Big Mouth Burger is their proprietary burger that’s marketed as irrefutably tasty and juicy, and while it was decent, I wouldn’t call it amazing. They didn’t put any of the toppings on it that I asked for, and it was fairly overcooked for what I was looking for. All and all the burger was a 5/10. The Cajun Pasta was in a similar boat of quality. The picture shows a light sprinkle of cajun seasoning to make the cajun flavors pop, while on the actual dish, it was more of a mound of seasoning, so much so it was hard to taste the food through the flavoring. On top of the strong flavors, the shrimp was rubbery and kind of bland outside of the mound of seasoning. We would rate the pasta a 4/10.
After a lackluster meal with average service and cleanliness, we are giving Chili’s a 4.5/10 overall.
