The 2025 track and field season kicked off in exciting fashion on the evening of February 6th at Boerne Stadium, where athletes from a variety of local high schools gathered to compete in the first Regan Track Meet of the season. Schools from across the region, including Reagan High School, Medina Valley, Boerne Champion, Comal Canyon, Boerne, Southwest Legacy, Kerrville Tivy, Bracken Christian High School, and San Antonio Southwest, brought their best athletes to the track for an evening of fierce competition.
Reagan High School emerged as the clear leader in both the Varsity and Junior Varsity divisions, taking home the championship titles in both the boys’ and girls’ categories.
In the Varsity Girls’ competition, Reagan’s athletes demonstrated their strength, endurance, and skill, finishing the meet with an impressive 165.33 points to secure the win. Their performance was highlighted by standout individual efforts in the sprints, distance events, and field events. The Reagan girls, who are the 2024 District Champions, are clearly hungry to defend their title this year, and this victory shows they’re already in mid-season form.
The Varsity Boys’ competition was equally fierce, with Reagan once again standing tall. The boys finished strong with 178 points, edging out the competition with stellar performances across multiple events. Their dominance was evident in the track and field events, as Reagan’s athletes showcased their all-around athleticism, from the high hurdles to the long jump and pole vault. Like their female counterparts, the Reagan boys are also the 2024 District Champions and are eager to defend their crown. Their victory at this meet sends a strong message to the competition that they are hungry for another title.
While Reagan was the dominant force in the Varsity categories, the Junior Varsity competitions were also filled with exciting results. The JV Girls’ event saw Boerne Champion shine, as they finished with 149 points, a strong showing that demonstrated their depth and talent. However, the JV Boys’ competition was once again controlled by Reagan High School, who finished with 175 points, proving their strength extends across both Varsity and JV levels.
The first Regan Track Meet of the season showcased the future stars of track and field, and the results show that Reagan High School is poised for a strong season in 2025. With an early season win under their belts, both the Varsity and JV teams are feeling confident as they look ahead to more competition in the months to come.
