The North East ISD Board of Trustees has voted Monday night to name Chief Instructional Officer Anthony Jarrett interim superintendent.
Jarrett will temporary fill in for Superintendent of Schools Sean Maika, who announced his resignation after six years working with NEISD.
Maika’s last workday will be on Jan. 12, but his resignation is not in effect until Mar. 31.
“Mr. Jarrett and I have worked closely over the past six years,” Maika said. “I have no doubt our District is being left in good hands with him at the helm.”
Jarrett has more than 25 years of experience in public education, including six years with the district.
“I’m thrilled to build on the great work we’ve been doing and to explore new learning opportunities for all our students,” Jarrett said. “I’m eager to collaborate with our amazing staff and families to ensure we provide the best education possible.”
