Reagan’s varsity basketball teams start the new year with district games against Roosevelt, Madison, Johnson, and LEE.
The boys varsity team hosted Roosevelt on Friday, Jan. 2 and had a dominant performance. Reagan had a 38-22 lead at halftime and never looked back, winning 81-47.
The Rattlers then played away to Madison on Tuesday, Jan. 6 and had a much closer game. Reagan came out on top with a 53-38 victory. Reagan followed up playing away to Johnson on Friday, Jan 9 and fell to them 57-49.
The Rattlers looked to bounce back, hosting LEE on Tuesday, Jan. 13 and did just that, winning 68-53. Reagan’s overall record improved to 14-9 and 3-1 in district play.
Girls Varsity Basketball Splits January Matchups
The girls varsity team played away to Roosevelt on Saturday, Jan. 3 and had a very low scoring game. The Rattlers trailed 12-11 at halftime, but a strong third quarter performance was enough to pull them towards a 34-30 victory.
Reagan then hosted Madison on Wednesday, Jan 7 and ended up having their biggest win of the season with a 77-27 blowout victory.
The Rattlers followed up playing away to Johnson on Saturday, Jan. 10 and were unable to repeat the same success, falling to them 63-23.
Reagan looked to return to their winning ways in an away game against LEE on Wednesday, Jan. 14 but were unsuccessful, falling 63-56. The Rattlers dropped to 15-13 in the season and 4-2 in district play.
Coming up
Reagan’s varsity basketball teams will be hosting Churchill on Friday, Jan. 9 and Saturday, Jan 10. The boys will play Friday and the girls will play Saturday.
