This week, two members of the Rattler Report team went to review the La Madeleine at 18030 U.S. Hwy 281. La Madeleine is a quaint french style cafe with in-house espresso, fresh baked goods, and delicious pastas that put a piece of the French diaspora on display in our Texas backyard.
The atmosphere is a mix between a picturesque French bakery and your grandmother’s house that fills you with warmth. To tie this together, the food was a delicious mix of modern french cuisine and americanized classic food that’s sure to make your stomach growl.
A good start to your outing would be their made in house cappuccino for a morning jolt or hot cocoa for a rich breakfast with a savory salad or sandwich.
For an entree, we’d suggest the chicken cordon bleu pasta for its rich, cheesy yet savory dish with ham, chicken, and breadcrumbs added to their four cheese pasta. If you want something a little healthier, try their half chicken caesar sandwich for the savory chicken, lettuce, and mayo combo with their flavorful caesar salad.
To finish off your trip, try one of their made in house baked goods like their “Tarte Au Citron,” “Sacher Torte,” or coconut creme cake for a sweet finish to your amazing meal.
Before leaving, when asked about the goal of the staff, manager Michael Rogers explained “[The goal is] that they leave happy. Hopefully, that’s how y’all feel. Really for the guests to leave happy.”
All in all, La Madeleine is an 8/10 restaurant with amazing atmosphere, delicious food, and impeccable service that you should definitely make a part of your outing next time you’re looking for a nice sit-down dinner.
